Magical Easter in Santorini
Easter preparations during the Holy Week make the perfect period to visit Santorini. Easter is an important celebration in Greece all around, and especially in the islands, where all the customs revive. The locals begin to white-wash their houses and the churches so as to welcome the guests. During Easter you can taste some seasonal delicacies, like tsourekia [they are similar to brioche] and melitinia [sweet local pastries with cheese].
If you decide to arrive to the island one week prior, you can celebrate Saturday of Lazarus in Megalochori, located just 20 minutes away from Dome Santorini Resort. A huge cross is set in the main square with decorative flowers.
